Day 2 is over and it's been a busy day. After some history lessons by our Polish Pastor we walked to a restaurant for our noon dinner. After dinner we walked around downtown Opole. The streets are very narrow with many only for pedestrians. It's no wonder that our pastor says he bikes to most places here. Driving a car wouldn't get you very close to anything. There are lots of OLD historic buildings that can't be torn down because of historical importance but some sit empty because there is no money to renovate.
The Polish people seem to place a lot of importance on the arts with recognition of musical artists and sculptures in prominent places in the area. They have many beautiful parks and cathedrals also.
The church we are connected with here is fairly new and modern and I love the beautiful garden outside of it.
Tomorrow will be another busy day. We will be finalizing plans for the teaching week and I think we are going to A castle. More coming soon. . .
